Tja, preutse amerikanen...Maar als het al lukt om je gijzelnemer te vermoorden, hoe maak je je in hemelsnaam los van een metalen ketting? Je gebruikersnaam is voor iedereen zichtbaar, en kun je later niet meer aanpassen.Chained gaat in principe over een massa moordenaar die met zijn taxi verschillende slachtoffers ophaalt en deze naar zijn huis brengt. Toen Tim nog een jong kind was, werd hij met zijn moeder opgepikt door de gestoorde taxichauffeur Bob. Chained doet dat ook wel lichtelijk, en na het eerste kwartier kan je al een beetje voorspellen hoe de film zal eindigen, maar het psychologische horror-gehalte haalt hier echt overal keihard uit, en Lynch deinst voor niets of niemand terug. Bob heeft het idee dat hij 'm op kan voeden tot z'n opvolger/partner-in-crime, en jarenlang probeert hij hem te kneden en medeschuldig te maken.
