The Super still enjoys 50% more memory bandwidth as it receives 12Gbps GDDR6 memory whereas the original 1650 comes with 4GB of 8Gbps GDDR5 memory. But hey, it seems Nvidia doesn't want you to know about it even though it's arguably the most interesting product Nvidia has refreshed this year using the 'Super' moniker. With the upcoming Radeon RX 5500 release, we'd have expected Nvidia to make as much noise as possible with this product. That's a relatively negligible overclock, and just about any other 1650 Super should be able to match it. It also means it was just 5% slower than the GTX 1660.Next up we have Resident Evil 2 and the 1650 Super had no issues delivering smooth playable performance with 83 fps on average. The vanilla GTX 1650 Super cards' MSRP will be ~$160, or just $10 more than the original. But hey, it seems Nvidia doesn't want you to know about it.Using that same logic with the GTX 1650 Super does not add up. While the RX 570 is still very competitive at $130, we feel for the extra $30 the 1650 Super is a better product, it uses less power and because of that most models will run cooler and quieter as a result.Even at $170 the GTX 1650 Super is still better value than either the RX 580 or RX 590 and given its efficiency we'd say it’s worth paying a $10-20 premium for.

That's not because 1440p is really the point of a card like the 1650 Super, but more to see what happens as resolution and VRAM requirements increase.I'm including other GPUs priced at around $300 down to the budget cards, as well as a couple of representatives of the old guard. Games like Assassin's Creed, Metro Exodus, and Borderlands 3 on the other hand will benefit from turning down a few settings.Considering the GTX 1650 Super only costs $10 more than the regular GTX 1650, this is a Just don't expect max settings and higher resolutions in every game, and beware of future games that could push beyond the capabilities of the 4GB VRAM. It's also about 30 percent faster than the old GTX 970, and similarly 30 percent faster than the RX 570 4GB, though the lead drops to 20 percent at 1440p. Despite its compact size it has been fitted with …

The GTX 970 and R9 390 were both great cards several years back. I've been expecting cards to arrive this month, but that hasn't happened yet.

It's also possible that Nvidia is getting enough TU116 chips that aren't fully functional that it just makes good sense to come out with the 1650 Super using TU116.In terms of core specs, the GTX 1650 Super is a healthy jump in performance from the existing GTX 1650.
I've tested at 1080p medium and 1080p ultra settings (except where noted), as well as 1440p ultra.

We have 17 games to look at, all have tested at 1080p, so let’s get into the results.First up we have Shadow of the Tomb Raider and here the 1650 Super averaged 60 fps, placing it on par with the RX 580 and ahead of the GTX 1060. I've got MSI's GeForce GTX 1650 Super Gaming X, so let's see how it performs.Visually, MSI's new GTX 1650 Super card looks nearly identical to the GTX 1650 Gaming X, but there are a few minor tweaks. If you can spend the extra $50 to $75, upgrading to a GTX 1660 Super is a better long-term decision. As for AMD, the RX 5500 retail launch is still a bit of a mystery.

Nvidia seems to have hit it out of the park with this one.Going back to early 2019, we kind of understand why Nvidia wanted to delay information on the original This actually looks to be a really good, really competitive product. How much lower depends on the game and settings, and I've seen quite a few new games during the past year where only having a 4GB GPU is going to be limiting. In this case, it's not much to speak of: the Boost clock is 1755MHz, compared to the reference 1725MHz. Even though we’re not using the official driver, we're confident the performance that you’ll see here is accurate. The refreshed GPU packs 1280 CUDA cores, 80 texture units and 32 ROPs. NY 10036. ©

With the memory and core overclock, that's good for an additional 10-15 percent performance, depending on the game and settings you run.

This invited a two-fold response from NVIDIA. New York,

Things won't get any better going forward, either, with the next generation of consoles arriving in 2020.Nvidia hasn't officially dropped prices on the non-Super 1650 and 1660 cards, but my understanding is that they'll both continue to coexist alongside their Super siblings.

In this review, we're testing the Zotac GeForce GTX 1650 Super Twin Fan, which is the company's only GTX 1650 Super SKU at the moment. The overall average at 1080p ultra is 61 fps, but only about half of the game break 60 while the other half range from around 40 fps up to 55 fps.If you're interested in lighter fare like Fortnite, Overwatch, CS:GO, or Rainbow Six: Siege, the 1650 Super will do just fine at 1080p and max quality (or close to it). Forza Horizon 4, Hitman 2, The Outer Worlds, and Total War: Warhammer 2 tend to favor Nvidia's Turing GPUs more than games like Borderlands 3 and Metro Exodus, while Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Strange Brigade have the 570 and 1650 Super basically tied.Something else to consider is that the 1650 Super nearly manages to break 60 fps in every game I tested at 1080p medium (Metro Exodus being the sole exception), but at 1080p ultra it's far less of a certain thing. A similar story as we saw with the older GTX 1060 6GB, the 1650 Super is ~2 fps faster, which results in essentially the same performance on average.Coming from the original 1650 we’re looking at a 38% performance boost on average, while the 1650 Super was just 9% slower than the GTX 1660 and 17% slower than the 1660 Super.
For what amounts to a pretty small difference in price the 1650 Super offers a significantly better gaming experience in this title.Where as the GTX 1650 struggled in Far Cry New Dawn at 1080p, with an average of just 57 fps and 1% lows below 40 fps, the 1650 Super has no such issue, pumping out almost 80 fps on average making it 37% faster. Until then, this MSI Gaming X version of the GTX 1650 Super looks great, it runs cool, quiet and offers a little overclocking headroom. Still the Super version did break the 60 fps barrier in our test and that meant it was a few frames faster than the RX 580, so a solid result. We’re back to strong performance gains, this time when testing with Prey.
